Anaphylaxis is a life threatening condition that affects an increasing number of children and adults. With 40% of children now suffering from allergies, the ability to understand allergic conditions, and deal with sudden or severe symptoms is fast becoming an essential part of childcare. The symptoms of Anaphylaxis can occur within seconds or minutes of a sufferer's exposure to the food or substance that they are allergic to. Prompt, appropriate action and care is essential.
This short training course is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to understand allergic conditions, and deal with the sudden and severe symptoms of anaphylaxis.
Course includes:
- Anaphylaxis policies and protocols
- What is an anaphylaxis reaction
- Common causes signs and symptoms management and treatment of anaphylaxis
- Administration of an adrenaline auto-injector: Anapen, EpiPen
- Jext Aftercare Basic Life support
- Practical CPR Session
It is recommended that this qualification should operate on a ratio of a maximum of 12 learners to 1 tutor
