Pokémon Go…or Pokémon Stop?

I must admit, Pokémon was never ‘my thing’ when I first came across the TV series as a youngster.  Perhaps that’s why I just don’t get this Pokémon Go craze that’s sweeping the nation at present - though several work colleagues and delegates on our training courses clearly love it!   In fact, I was delivering training at an FM client site yesterday and was reliably advised during our lunch break that there was a rare Pokémon character in the room ‘standing next to me’.  Next thing I know, several delegates whipped out thei... On your marks, get set, would I go?!

www.iwlegacy.com/en-gb/blog/on-your-marks-get-set-would-i-go-53879

Has 4 years really passed since London 2012? It seems like only yesterday the country was swept up with celebrity torch bearers, Mo Farah, the Queen jumping out of a helicopter, 65 Team GB medals and of course 29 gold post boxes! Tomorrow is the first official day of Rio 2016 and I can’t wait to have nearly three weeks of wall to wall sport followed by the awe inspiring Paralympics. But there are also some unseen health and safety issues in the office. Boredom and fatigue A recent BBC News story documented the sto... Continue reading

Reducing Accidents at Work

Accidents and similar incidents at work always seem to come attached with the ‘not in my workplace’ attitude. Even if one hasn’t occurred in your workplace as of late, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t occurring elsewhere. For example; did you know that – in the year 2014/15 – approximately 687,000 injuries occurred at work, according to data from the Labour Force Survey? This equates to 27.3 million working days lost due to work-related illness and workplace injury, and £14.3 billion for the estimated cost of injuries ... Continue reading

Happy World FM Day 2016...

www.iwlegacy.com/en-gb/blog/happy-world-fm-day-2016-53779

Or as I usually find myself saying – in an accidental nod to Editor Martin Read and colleagues at the official magazine of the BIFM: Happy FM World Day – it’s much the same thing. We’re delighted to support the FM industry in its big annual celebration, having for many years in our former incarnation as Workplace Law held events and written articles to highlight the contribution that good facilities management makes to good business. Indeed, the fact that so many events are taking place in the UK and around the world on this speci... Continue reading
