Our next one-day FM Legal Update takes place on 4 October in London. Now in its 18th year, it’s still the most popular legal briefing in the sector. Workplace dress codes: time for a makeover?

In June 2017, a woman claimed she was sacked from her job at a bar in Hull after refusing to wear a bra to work. The bar denied the allegations, claiming no one had been dismissed, but the woman claimed she had been let go after inappropriate sexual remarks were made and she was told not to return if she was not wearing a bra. Thorp initiated a government petition calling for a ref... Continue reading

The impact of the Levy is unknown as yet, but the following is what we do know is in store for businesses. The Conservative Government promised three million new apprenticeships by 2020 and therefore need businesses who fit this criteria to pay 0.5% of their annual pay bill into the scheme to fund the growth in apprenticeships. However, the participatin... Continue reading

Refresher training tends to come in for a lot of stick by the people who often feel they’ve been forced to do it as part of a ‘tick box’ compliance procedure. And all too often, they are right.  Finding a way of refreshing existing knowledge – while delivering an update on important changes that have taken place in the interim – is one of the toughest challenges for learning and development teams and indeed for training providers such as International Workplace. How best to remind people about things they already know, without bori... Continue reading
