First Aid at Work (Level Three)
The first aid at work (level three) training course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required to deal with a range of illnesses and injuries requiring first aid in the workplace. This course meets the legislative criteria and enables learners to become HSE-approved, fully qualified first aiders in the workplace.
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to identify the requirements for first aid within their workplaces. This includes the provision, where appropriate, of fully qualified first aiders, i.e. those who have successfully undertaken an approved three-day First Aid at Work course.
Outline and content
Our first aid at work (level three) training is a three day course, delivered via virtual classroom or face-to-face classroom by one of our qualified trainers.
During the first aid at work (level three) course, you will cover the following modules:
- Roles and responsibilities of first aiders in the workplace.
- Assessing incidents.
- Managing unconscious casualties (including CPR training).
- First aid for choking, external bleeding, shock, minor injuries, injuries to bones, joints and muscles (including head and spinal injuries).
- Management of illness and injury in the workplace.
- Medical emergencies and treatment of major illnesses
As this course has been designed by us, if you have any special requirements then we can tailor the course content to suit your company's needs.
Prerequisites
Learners would have ideally have successfully undertaken an approved three-day first aid at work course. However, this is not essential.
Course length
The duration of our first aid at work (level three) training course is three days.
Recommended numbers
There is a recommendation of a maximum of 14 people per course.
Assessment
Certification
This course meets the legislative criteria, therefore learners who successfully complete this course will be awarded an QCF-approved certificate that is valid for a period of three years.
